19th July 2006 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 25 knots Surf / Sea State: Flat Air Temperature: 20ºC Sea Temperature: 18 Weather: Sunny Max Speed: 33.7 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 19.5 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Wooohooo... Ivor was in full force this morning, solid 25 knots in the estuary. I didn't think it was going to be quite that strong so went out with my 6.7m. needless to say I was maxed out!... Still tried some carving 360's and body drags, but really the aim of the day was SPEED... managed a top speed of 33.7 knots which I'm pretty pleased with. I have had a reading slightly higher than that before but that was on the seafront and was probably achieved during a wipeout rather than actually sailing... Todays I'm sure about as I had loads of 30 knot plus runs then the top speed hovered around 32.5 knots for a while before creeping up to the top speed of 33.7.... Nice. I love this place! |
